What is something that boys have, that girls don't, that starts with the letter P?

I had a Primary Presidency meeting at my house yesterday morning and at the end of the meeting Sister Reed (who is our dear President and is in her 70's) shared a funny story with us. Apparently last Sunday in the neighboring ward the woman who was conducting Sharing Time opened her lesson with the above question, "what is something that boys have, that girls don't, that begins with the letter P?"

Now, how this poor woman couldn't have seen what was coming is beyond me. Obviously every child began raising their hands or just shouting out a certain part of the male anatomy. The answer she was looking for was "priesthood", boys will someday receive the priesthood. Perhaps we are all just more perverse than the teacher conducting but, honestly, what was your first thought when you saw that question?

Note: For those of you who aren't LDS, Primary is the program for children aged 3-12 that meets during the second and third hours of church. The Primary is divided up into classes by age but for a portion all of the classes meet together and a lesson is taught, i.e. Sharing Time.

Three French Hens, Two Turtle Doves, and a Brand New kid-sized Escalade!

Better late than never.  I wrote this in early January then abandoned it, I really have no desire to finish it now but I did want to post the pictures, so even though they have no explanations it's still fun to see photos, right? Anyway, here's what I had started...

Santa finally got the right house!! Justin has been wanting a Power Wheels since he was a little boy but somehow Santa must not have realized where to deliver the goods, until now that is. I know that Justin is living vicariously through the kids and loving every minute of them rolling around outside in their little black Escalade. I think that it is more than a little dangerous, but secretly I always wanted one to. All three of the older kids--and sometimes a few neighbor kids too--pile in, crank up their radio (I did not know it was going to have it's own real working radio) and drive all around the cul-de-sac. They love it!!!

However, the Escalade was not the only life-sized electronic toy that made its way into the Allen home. Santa brought Tate a dinosaur friend to ride on and play with. The kids have especially loved feeding the dinosaur and watching him roar, blink his eyes, and chomp down on his special green leaves. I'm not going to lie, they were all disappointed when they realized that the animatronics were limited to his head and neck. They wanted to take him around outside and ride him on their adventures (that they take on nearly a daily basis) exploring the empty lots we still have on either side of our house.

Abbie wasn't forgotten by Santa or his elves either. Santa and Grandpa Lee were in cahoots and decided that Abbie was definitely ready for her own real big girl bike (with training wheels of course). I must admit that Abbie is probably better than Bracken is on a two-wheeler these days. She has desperately wanted her own bike since Bracken got his Spiderman one on his birthday. Her preschool teachers have also mentioned on more than one occasion that Abbie's favorite thing to do at recess is ride bikes, so she was ecstatic to she her beautiful shiny new pink Barbie bike as part of her Santa display on Christmas morning. Another favorite from Santa was her baby doll, complete with stroller, bassinet, and infant carrier. She has very creatively named the doll "Baby Abigail Grandma Marilyn Allen".
